Well I know this was a few weeks ago now, but I couldn’t help but post about this one. Pretty much had this day planned since before Annabelle was born, and as I didn’t have a big fancy wedding I felt I was allowed to go a little crazy!
Here are a few details of the day and happy snaps of the day for you to check out!
Location: We are really lucky that my husband parents have an amazing house at the top of a hill overlooking the town and Baw Baw. It’s the perfect spot for a party! And saves having to fork out for venue hire.
Entertainment: Annabelle is a BIG lover of animals so a petting zoo was always on the cards. We had Barn Buddies Mobile Farm come to us and set up a big pen with lots of fuzzy animals for the kids to play with. It was absolutely worth the money and the younger kiddies especially enjoyed it.
We also had a jumping castle we hired through Baileys Bouncers, who were fantastic to deal with. If I had my time again I probably wouldn’t have bothered, only because the babies and toddlers can’t really use it but it did keep the older kids entertained, and by older kids I mean me, lol.
Food & Drink: I think it can be really easy to get carried away these days on extravagant catering and fancy cakes for parties. Not that I wouldn’t have it all if I could afford it, haha. Since I’m not so good at baking myself, I engaged the help of my amazing friends and family, who were more than happy to help me cater the event. We had amazing cupcakes, cookies and cakes all made with love by our nearest and dearest! We also had a Krispy Kreme platter, cause let’s be honest, errrry body love KK.
Outfit: I originally had a long sleeve Rock Your Baby tutu dress lined up but leading up to the day it was evident it was going to be warm one so I headed into Tag Kidz, Warragul. There we purchased the RYB ‘Golden Short Sleeve Dress’ in Grey Marble and accessoriesed it with one of the RYB Loves necklaces and pink bow.
Invitation & Decorations: Most of this I did myself, including a gold glitter bunting that spelt ‘Annabelle’. I love crafts and DIY so I was totally in my element. The colour scheme was red gingham and gold to keep in line with the farm theme. We also had big gold balloons that spelt ‘ONE’. I purchased these off eBay for about $15 and had them blown up at Lombards for $10 each. Otherwise through my local party shop they were $40 each, so defs shop around.
The invitation I created and printed myself on recycled kraft paper along with address labels to match. I bought a big pack of paper for just $11 at our local office supply store and red envelopes off eBay!
Presents: So we went a tad nuts on this one and bought Annabelle her own kid sized Range Rover Evoke. It is my dream car so I figure at least one of us drives one, hehe. We bought the 12V one from Kids Cars Online. They were so amazing to deal with as they were expecting their shipment to arrive only the week before her birthday. They fast tracked the order for us and literally had it on a truck the day the ship landed and it arrived the Thursday before her birthday. Check out my Instagram (@houseofwhite_) for an adorable video of Annabelle cruising round.
