While she may have been a tiny baby when she was born, Teddy absolutely makes up for her small size by reminding us daily that she’s the boss in our house!
She runs a tight ship, she has both my husband and I, and her big sister wrapped around her cute little finger!
So, when the movie ‘Boss Baby’ came out in cinemas, I knew we had to see it! One of those movies that has just as much laughs for the adults as it does for the kids, it was also totally relatable for our little Ted!
And to celebrate its release to DVD and Blu-Ray, we’ve put together a list of ways Teddy reminds us daily that she’s the boss…
She makes me carry her, EVERYWHERE!
One of the fun parts of having children is getting to pick a super cute pram, that will most likely cost you way too much but who cares it looks good right?
Only to give birth to a child who demands to be carried, absolutely everywhere! I think our pram has been used a total of 5 times!
She wants what you have
“Gave a drink to Annabelle? I want one to! No, not that one? I want her one!”
“Oh, you’re eating your lunch? I want some of yours! I don’t care if I have the same on my own plate!”
“Oh, you’re playing with that Barbie? I want it! Oh, now you have another one, I want that one now too”
She expects you can read her mind
The joys of having a toddler who cannot yet speak means that everything is communicated to you in grunts and screams!
While I must carry her everywhere she will thrust herself and point to the things she wants.
Only problem is that usually whatever it is I think she’s pointing at is wrong and results in her throwing herself around in protest and screaming, while I cry is frustration “WHAT DO YOU WANT??”
She gives zero shits
She will literally pull out the toy draw, throw every toy out of it onto the floor and then just walk away.
Literally. No. Shits. Given.
And of course I have to clean up after her!
She keeps you on your toes
Just sat down to relax? Oh, wait someone’s made a mess in her nappy and needs a change!
Trying to go to the toilet in peace? Here, let me insist on sitting on your lap or running away with the toilet paper!
Trying to talk on the phone? Let me sing you the song of my people.
She smacks me into line, literally!
So, the whole smacking phase is new to me, as Annabelle was never a hitter! You can imagine my shock when my 15-month-old decided that smacking my face and pulling my hair was absolutely hilarious!
And here I thought having to carry her highness around was bossy enough, she now has to get physical!
She calls meetings at all hours
Every wondered if your baby is due for a bottle? Nope, not me! Because I can guarantee you she will let you know! 1am? 3am? 5am? She does not care what time of the day, or what you are doing. She wants her bottle and she wants it now slave!
Everything is on her schedule.
If it’s nap time, then it is nap time! If I miss that window, then absolutely all hell breaks loose!
I compare it to that scene in Gremlins when they get fed after midnight!
Yet, for all her boss baby little ways. We would not have it any other way! You can’t blame a girl for knowing what she wants and making sure she gets it!
Because I want my girls to know that they are The Boss! They’re the boss of their own bodies, they’re the boss of their own destiny, that their opinions matter, and that they can be anything they want to be.
That being said, it’s not hard to see where they pulled the real-life inspiration for this movie! and we think it’s great.
