So I am by no means interior design-y, far from it! I’m also a massive tight arse so expensive designer furniture and decor is not my thing. As much as I’d love all the nice things I see in gorgeous posts on Insta or pinned to my Pinterest walls.
But, one thing I can proudly say is that I’m pretty damn thrifty and good at finding what I want on a budget!
A lot of people have asked where a lot of our nursery furniture and decor is from so I thought I would do a little bit of a blog to cover some of the items off 🙂 I think you will all be pleasantly surprised how inexpensive most items were!
Occasional Chair – I really wanted the infamous Greyson chair from Freedom we’ve all seen in styled nursery shots, however it was a little out of my Budget. I searched high and low for a reasonable alternative that I liked and finally found the “Noosa” Chair from Focus On Furniture. Grabbed a bargain in their end of year sale, 50% off at just $299!
Cot – You know when you see something on Instagram/Pinterest and you’re like “I MUST HAVE THAT”. Well that’s exactly what happened to me! I saw the cot in an IG post and had been looking all over for a Scandavian inspired design, however, most I’d found were well over a thousand dollars and I just could not justify that.
You can purchase from Focus on Furniture here.
When I found the Troll Sun Cot I was so over the moon to also find it fell into my budget at only $550! Totally affordable for such a well-made timber cot. It also grows with your child so will get good use for years to come!
You can purchase from Danish by Design here.
Bed Linen – When Annabelle was baby I found it so hard to find cute, good quality bed linen. This time I was so lucky to find one of my favourite children’s clothing labels also started to make bedding that has the cutest designs and is super well made!
Wilson & Frenchy have a number of gorgeous designs of fitted cot sheets and blankets that perfectly suited our theme!

Decor – Well no surprise here that a lot of our decor items are from, you guessed it, KMART! You seriously cannot go wrong with some of the items coming out of Kmart lately. As our theme had a lot of blush pink there was heaps of options.
Our side table, faux fur rug, lamp and ottoman are all from Kmart! All under $30 – STEAL!
You can purchase from Kmart here.
Soft Furnishings – I love a good decorative cushion, much to my husband’s annoyance! I’ve always loved and wanted one of the cute knot cushions from My Little Echo, which I got in a matching pink as well as a cute button cushion from Onyx & Smoke, another favourite IG store!

Shelfie – One thing I’ve learnt from the world of Instagram is you need a cute floating shelf to put a bunch of random decorative items on to take “shelfies” haha! I had my husband make one from a piece of timber that had come out of the roof during renovations!
But I’m told you can also buy cute shelves just from Ikea which can also be used as book displays!
For those who asked also, the wall colour in Teddy’s room is “Silk Sheets” by Taubmans. However, the paint is actually Wattle ID, it’s a really good paint, so easy to work with and VERY forgiving for shit painters like me ha!
