The enchanting world of Disney has sailed into Australia, and it’s bringing all the magic, wonder, and excitement that Disney is known for. Yes, you read that right – the Disney Wonder cruise liner is now gracing Australian waters – YEWWW BEAUTY!!!!

I got an amazing opportunity last week to be one of the first Aussies to stay on board and experience the magic first-hand!! And I will not lie, it blew me away. I did not think I was going to be a cruiser but, baby, I am converted!!

Whether you’re a Disney die-hard, a parent seeking family adventures (and a chance for some solo time), or simply someone looking for a unique and unforgettable cruise experience, this is definitely it!!

So here is something I learned and noticed when I took sail…

It is a Kid’s Paradise

It is no surprise that the Disney Wonder is a kid’s paradise. From character meet-and-greets to themed play areas and engaging kids’ clubs, your little ones will be entertained throughout the journey. And if you’re a parent, this gives you the chance to relax and enjoy some adult time on the ship.

It’s also a fantastic way to enjoy Disney Magic if you have younger children and babies who might not be able to get the most out of the parks just yet.

There are four dedicated kids’ clubs on the Wonder, including:

Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab (Ages: 3 to 12 years old)

These two clubs offer interactive play areas where kids can engage in various activities, including art projects, storytelling, and video games. With themed areas within these clubs include Marvel’s Avengers Academy and Andy’s Room from Toy Story.

It’s a Small World Nursery (Ages: 6 months to 3 years old)

This nursery is perfect for the littlest cruisers, offering age-appropriate toys and activities in a secure and nurturing environment.

Edge (Ages: 11 to 14 years old)

A dedicated space for tweens to socialize, play games, and participate in exciting activities. It’s a great way for older kids to make new friends.

Vibe (Ages: 14 to 17 years old)

A trendy lounge designed exclusively for teenagers, providing them with a cool hangout spot and organized events.

I must admit, having seen these areas I might be trying to pass for 12 most of my trip!

It’s Not Just for Kids

Many people would assume that Disney Cruises is solely for families with children. And of course, while they do offer fantastic family-friendly activities, Disney Wonder is equally enjoyable for adults and couples.

This includes The Quiet Cove Pool, an adults-only oasis where you can relax and unwind in a serene environment. Lounge by the pool, enjoy a refreshing cocktail from the nearby bar and take in the beautiful sea views without the hustle and bustle of family areas.

Palo, a fine-dining restaurant exclusively for adults. It offers a luxurious dining experience with delectable Italian cuisine. Make a reservation for a romantic dinner or indulge in a delightful brunch, all while enjoying the stunning ocean vistas.

The Senses Spa & Salon is a tranquil retreat for adults seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Enjoy a range of spa treatments, from massages to facials, and take advantage of the salon services for a fresh new look.

The Disney Wonder also features various nightclubs and lounges, like Azure and Cadillac, which host adult-themed events in the evening.

There is also tonnes of adult-centric shopping onboard all over the ship!!

Nearly Everything is Inclusive

One of the perks of sailing with Disney is that nearly everything is included in your cruise fare. Your Main Dining Rooms, Buffet Dining, Soft Drinks and Coffee, Character Meet-and-Greets, Entertainment, and Kids’ Clubs are all included.

Some things that are not are alcohol, specialty dining, spas and merchandise. So it’s good to plan your trip in advance to know what your budget might indeed look like!

Exclusive Unique Merchandise

This was one of the most exciting things we saw on the ship!! Disney Wonder offers exclusive merchandise that you won’t find anywhere else. So amazing to have a unique souvenir that can make for great keepsakes of your Disney cruise adventure.

Character’s Cruise Wardrobe

If you’re a fan of Disney characters, you’ll love the attention to detail on the cruise. The characters have their own cruise wardrobe, and you’ll be able to capture fantastic photos and moments to share with your audience.

Disney Cruise Navigator App

Of course, your cruise experience will be made easy with the Disney Cruise Navigator app. It’s a handy tool for booking activities and finding your favourite characters on the ship.

Tracking the Ship and Seeing It at Port

One exciting feature of Disney Wonder is the ability to track the ship’s journey and see it at port. Especially if you aren’t planning a cruise anytime soon but want to see the ship, it is well worth it!!

Take Your Signature Book

With all the amazing character meet-and-greet opportunities, don’t forget to take your signature book along. This will serve as a wonderful memory book, filled with the autographs and messages from Disney characters you meet during your cruise.
