It’s no secret, Amazon Prime Day is now one of the biggest and best shopping events of the year!! But, it can be easy to get caught up in the hype, make impulse purchases or perhaps not get the best deal!!
But, with a little planning, you can absolutely nab some epic savings and even stack your rewards and cashback while you shop.
Here are my top tips ways to maximise every dollar this Prime Day!!
It might sound obvious, but you’ll need an active Amazon Prime membership to access the majority of Prime Day deals. If you’re not already a member, consider starting a free trial if you’re eligible, especially if you only shop a few times a year. Along with exclusive Prime Day pricing, you’ll also get benefits like fast delivery, Prime Video, Prime Reading and more, making it worthwhile beyond the sale itself.
I personally have gotten my money’s worth 100 times over as I think I have an Amazon delivery on my doorstep almost every day HAHA and if you’ve already been a long time member you may be able to switvh to an annual plan, saving even more!!

It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of thousands of deals, but having a Wish List ready before Prime Day helps you stay focused. Add the items you’re genuinely planning to buy in advance so you can quickly see when they’re discounted. It’s a simple way to avoid unnecessary purchases while making sure you don’t miss the products you’ve been waiting for.
This is one of my favourite hacks I use whenever I’m shopping!!
If you find something you love elsewhere? Use Amazon Lens to search with a photo instead of typing keywords. Simply upload or snap a picture and Amazon will find the same or similar products. It’s a handy way to compare options and discover alternatives you might not have found otherwise.

Not every Prime Day deal is the lowest price an item has ever been. Before checking out, compare prices across other retailers and use a price history tool to see whether the discount is genuinely worth it. A product advertised as “50% off” may have been cheaper just a few months ago, so spending a few extra seconds checking can save you money.
Many products have additional savings hidden on the product page. Keep an eye out for tick-box coupons, percentage-off vouchers, or promotional codes that can be stacked on top of Prime Day pricing. These small discounts can quickly add up, especially if you’re buying multiple items.

Before you check out, see if cashback websites like ShopBack or TopCashback are offering cashback on Amazon purchases. Activating cashback only takes a minute and means you’ll earn a percentage of your purchase back after you’ve shopped. Combining cashback with Prime Day discounts is one of the easiest ways to maximize your savings.

If you’re able to pay your credit card off in full, using a rewards credit card can help you earn points on every purchase. Whether you’re collecting Qantas Points, Velocity Points or cashback rewards, it’s an easy way to get extra value from purchases you were already planning to make. Just remember, the rewards are only worthwhile if you avoid paying interest.
Another shopping hacks is buying Amazon gift cards before you shop. For example, purchasing Amazon gift cards through the Qantas Marketplace sometimes has 3 Qantas Points for every $1 spent. You can then use those gift cards to pay during Prime Day, effectively earning points before you even start shopping. It’s a simple trick that turns everyday spending into future flights.
The best Prime Day strategy isn’t buying more, it’s buying smarter. By planning ahead, stacking discounts, earning cashback, collecting points and avoiding impulse purchases, you can make the most of the sale while keeping more money in your pocket. Happy bargain hunting!
